Conceptual design and engineering activities lay the foundation for capital projects. The conceptual design deliverables are used to develop technical scope and make the business case for a project. This service is available for customers located withing the United States, and can be used for conceptual design of any of the following processing plants:

  • Prepared foods
  • Soups, sauces, and condiments
  • Fruit or vegetable juices
  • Energy drinks
  • Coffee and beverages
  • Milk powder and infant formula
  • Yogurt production lines
  • Snack foods plants
  • Fluid milk products.
  • Milk powder plants
  • Meat production
  • Nutraceuticals
  • Personal care products

Upon purchasing this service, Specialty Food Process Technologies LLC will assign one US-based senior engineer to complete the conceptual design of the customers process plant. The customer will receive the following deliverables:

  1. Attend one introductory online meeting to review the customers requirements and produce a Process Basis of Design. This document reflects the customers process performance requirements and must be approved by the customer prior to the commencement of design activities.
  2. Block flow diagram with major process unit operations and mass and energy balance information.
  3. Preliminary process flow diagram indicating major pieces of equipment and interconnections.
  4. Major equipment list itemizing the significant pieces of equipment necessary for a functioning plant.
  5. Preliminary budget. Pricing will be determined from Specialty Food Process Technologies cost data. Such pricing is at the +/- 30% – 50% level of accuracy.
  6. Preliminary layout showing the footprint of the process plant and building outline.
  7. Estimates for utility consumption considering major unit operations and building requirements.
  8. Estimated operating cost considering local industrial utility rates.
  9. Conceptual design report describing the design of the process plant and estimates of the associated costs.
  10. One online design review meeting to review the design report.

Payment Terms

50% retainer invoiced and due immediately prior to the commencement of work

50% invoiced upon release of the draft design report, Net 30 days

Delivery time: the schedule for completing the deliverables will be determined upon mutual agreement between Specialty Food Process Technologies and the customer.

Meetings will be held using Specialty Food Process Technologies online conferencing system.
